Take Action on Military Aid to Israel:
Senate Hearing Tomorrow, Tax Day Next Week
Dear AUPHR Supporters:
Tomorrow, Wednesday, April 9, the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on
State and Foreign Operations will hold a hearing, featuring Secretary
of State Condoleezza Rice, on the President's FY2009 budget request,
including $2.55 billion in military aid for Israel.
TAKE ACTION TODAY
1. Call the Senate Appropriations Committee today at 202-224-7363 and
let them know that you oppose the President's FY2009 budget request for
$2.55 billion in military aid for Israel. Demand that the
Appropriations Committee sanction Israel and cut off military aid to it
for its continuing violations of the U.S. Arms Export Control and
Foreign Assistance Acts.
2. Send a written communication opposing military aid to Israel to all
the Members of the Appropriations Subcommittee by clicking here:

Each Member of this Subcommittee has received nearly 5,000 letters
opposing the President's military aid request. Make sure that they are
flooded with more letters of protest before tomorrow's hearing.
3. The US Campaign will deliver an organizational sign-on letter to the
Senate Appropriations Subcommittee later today opposing the President's
request for military aid to Israel. More than 300 organizations have
signed the letter to date. To view the list of endorsing organizations
and to add your organization's endorsement (Organizations only!),
please click here:

We must receive your organization's endorsement by 5PM Eastern today to
be included in the version we send to the Senate.
TAKE ACTION NEXT WEEK
Tax Day is coming up next Tuesday, April 15. Millions of
procrastinators line up at the post office to get their tax returns
postmarked on time, local television crews can be counted on to
interview tax payers waiting to get in the post office, and taxes are
on everyone's minds.
There's no better day than Tax Day to educate people about how our
taxes are being spent and there's no better opportunity to spread the
word about and collect signatures for our campaign to challenge
military aid to Israel.
Sign up today to become a volunteer organizer with the US Campaign to
challenge military aid to Israel by clicking here:

If you sign up by today, we'll get you an organizing packet in time
for you to take action on Tax Day.
After you sign up, we'll send you instructions on how to organize a Tax
Day action at your local post off
ice.
