An Open Letter to U.S. Senator Ron Wyden

The $3 billion that the U.S. government gives to Israel in military aid each year is blood-stained money that props up and ensures the continuance of the Israeli occupation. U.S. law--the Arms Export Control Act and the Foreign Assistance Act--prohibit providing weapons to countries that habitually violate human rights. Israel has kept the Palestinian people stateless and without equal rights for nearly 70 years. It has illegally annexed East Jerusalem, transferred its population to illegal settlements in the West Bank in violation of international law, and imposed an illegal blockade on Gaza, in itself an act of war.

The truth is that Israelis cannot be free until Palestinians are free. The time is now for you to become truly pro-Israeli and pro-Palestinian, Senator Wyden, by standing for equal rights, a genuine democracy, and peace with justice. It’s time to end the joint U.S.-Israeli occupation of Palestine.
